SoFi $SOFI keeps growing and adding new products, but the stock has been taking a hit this year.

Now there's been a pretty big deal with Mastercard. SoFi became the first U.S. national bank to launch card payment settlement via its own stablecoin SoFiUSD. It plans to gradually move its entire card program, which processes over $25 billion annually, to this system.

For the average person, nothing really changes. You pay with your card just like before. It's just that in the background, some payments will settle over the blockchain and the merchant can receive funds faster, even 24/7.

But at the same time, SoFi still has to deal with regular banking issues. Higher rates can help on one hand, because the bank earns more on loans, but they also discourage people from borrowing. And for a company that still has a large part of its business built on lending, that's pretty significant.

I have SoFi in my portfolio, and what I still like about the company is that its business no longer revolves just around student loans. It has become a bank, an investment app, a technology platform, and now a piece of payment infrastructure.

Do any of you have SoFi in your portfolio? And what's your take on the current situation?

It's simple. If the tech leg fails, the period of higher payments will push it down. Great company. Bad macro.
